What is a nanometer?: 1nm (nanometer) is 1 / 1,000,000,000 (1 billionth) of 1 meter, or 1/1,000,000 (one millionth) of 1mm.
To have a broader picture and understand the concept, we have as examples the following:
- The human hair is about 80,000 nm thick.
- A red blood cell is approximately 7.000 nm in diameter.
- A water molecule is nearly 0.3 nm in diameter.
A nanometer-sized particle is smaller than a living cell and can be seen only with advanced electronic microscopes.
In a sense, the nano science and nanotechnology are not something new.

Chemists have been working on conducting polymers composed of sub-units of molecules at a nanoscale for decades and nanotechnology has been applied for instance in the field of microprocessors for more than 20 years creating tiny characteristics through nanomaterials.
The makings of nanomaterials are not just another step in the miniaturization of super materials. These require different manufacture procedures and a unique approach in its field application. There are a variety of different processes to create nanomaterials and are classified depending on the approach to their structure: "top down" and/or "bottom up".
Although many nanomaterials are currently in the process of laboratory for its manufacture, very few of them are being marketed today, as is the case of NASACOAT.

Science has discovered since 1940 approximately nanostructures in many different areas of research. However, nanoscience and nanotechnology are still "in baby shoes." But the curiosity of the human being crosses the boundaries of science beyond the imaginable barriers of the unknown universe constantly evolving and no end.
And we can not take the risk of knowing how far is too far (or how far is too far away?), a persistent weakness of human beings.
In fact, our expertise and knowledge in the development of the world of nanoscience and nanotechnology are just discovering tiny insignificant parts of the wonders of life. Discovering the extent of the interminable and incomprehensible Universe, its intelligence in the infinite creativity of evolution that goes beyond scientific imagination.
The nanostructure of nature has existed for billions of years and its perfection is somewhat unclear, much less explicable and never reproducible in its natural form and original perfection. Never - !
In addition, nanotechnology has the potential to drastically change the structure of the economy, education, our culture, our religious beliefs and also improve our quality of life. Within the next 15-20 years, nanotechnology will expand our lifetime, believe it or not, up to 160 to 180 years.
This will be one of the many other steps in the future of human health and the preservation of life in general - !
The impact will be enormous, in fact; will also be a step deeper into our spiritual evolution and religious rather than mental and economic.

It is a challenge to life, where we came from, a great step forward, in fact, a big quantum step for mankind with more responsibilities and spiritual questions such as "stay in the religious ignorance or accept a life as an integral part of the same universe or simply be lost in the doubts" ?!
Last but not all, it does not matter whether our life has a deeper meaning or not. More importantly, if we have the skill and spiritual creativity to put this deep sense within the consciousness of life. The way that we should live our lives being part of our "Blue Green Planet".
As same as are infinite the spaces and distances Macro and Giga in the Universe are also infinite the distances in the space of the Universe Micro, Nano and Pico.
If we seriously ask who we are, where we came from, as well as where we go, we are lost in our thoughts before starting to think seriously. In fact the answer is very simple, the truth is always within ourselves, it is up to us to see and accept it or not. The Universe is our limit.
